We have renovated our old Barn which dates from 1831 into a dedicated Eco Centre for all our walks, seminars, workshops, school visits and more.
Our 1831 Barn has a ground floor area of 145 sqm and a beautiful light airy mezzanine overlooking the Blackstairs of 25 sq metres. The ground floor consists of entrance hall, Boot Room,(12 sq metres) two bathrooms, one a wet room with disabled access, showers,1 with bath and 2 WCs. The main ground floor space has a well appointed kitchen with 4 induction hobs and oven, plus a demonstration island unit with a further 4 induction hobs. There is a 30KW wood boiler boiler stove which heats the Barn. We have a plentiful supply of well seasoned timber for use. The huge amount of light comes from a succession of double doors leading onto the Rose and Water Garden to the West. Large sliding doors lead to the courtyard and to the North, two sets of double doors lead out onto the meadows.

The Barn has Wi-Fi and parking for 30 cars.
The Barn at The Old Rectory has good transport links. Guests can travel by train from Dublin to Bagenalstown ( Mhuine Beag) or from Waterford to Bagenalstown. We are 15 kms from the Train Station. We are approximately 1 hour & 40 minutes from Dublin travelling on the M7 and M9 Motorway.

Welcome to our Shepherds Huts!
Two gorgeous, cozy, accommodation options for you. Just 50 metres from our Barn, along a floodlit Old Beech Walk. The Shepherds Huts are centrally heated and very cozy with a double bed in each – suitable for two. Each Hut has three windows including a half door to look out onto a completely natural wooded area set beneath the Blackstairs Mountains. All you will hear is the soft cooing of wood pigeons!
All facilities at the Barn are available for guests. The Barn with its wet room, showers andlovely wood stove has ample space for chilling out.
There is a modern well-equipped kitchen, with fridge/freezer, oven and two induction hobs. Handcrafted, long, wooden tables and a well stocked Natural History library might whet your appetite to know more about this part of the world.
The grounds immediately round the Barn and the Shepherds Huts include a wild flower meadow and a classical old rose garden with a stream running through it. Wi-Fi is available.
An organic continental breakfast comprising of cereals ; juice ; fruit ; eggs; tomatoes ;artisan breads is included in the price .
