What better way to support your staff than a relaxing Company Day Out at the foot of the beautiful Blackstairs Mountains!
At the heart of our Company Day Out is relaxation; time spent away from screens, tablets and phones. Time- out from checking emails, sitting in meetings or watching interminable Power Point presentations.
So, what do we do on these Team Building Events?
1. WILD FOOD FORAGING
We forage for wild safe food. In groups or pairs, we prepare and cook- up delicious treats from the wild; pestos, juices, Wild Berry Schnapps and Gins, cookies, using nuts, seeds and berries. Groups infuse oils and vinegars with aromatic herbs and spices. We walk in woods, by rivers and by streams to collect these delicious edibles. We leave the world of offices, home offices and stress behind and we enjoy good food afterwards. Its simple, its different and its enjoyable as a Company Day Out. It’s not competitive, or a struggle and no one feels left out or nervous about taking part in our Company Day Out. Above all its relaxing.
So , What Do We Do on our Wild Food Foraging Company Day Out?
Guests learn what is safe to eat and what is not. Foragers should always respect the plants and the environment in which they grow. Ireland has an abundance of wild food plants and only a very few of our naturalised plants are on the ‘at risk’ list. Guests will learn how to harvest wild safe food, without destroying a, plant a tree or fungi. Foragers only take a small amount of each plant or fungi, leaving a third for sustainability, a third for wild life and a third for foraging. On our Company Days guests will also learn how to prepare and cook what is foraged, turning their hand to carefully making delicious dishes varying from soups, salads, ice creams, sorbets , cookies and amazing alcoholic drinks from the wild. This is a day when guests discover the incredible edibles in the wild!
2. CELTIC TREE TRAIL
Our Celtic Tree Trail Company Day Out event follows in the footsteps of the Celts who were the original team builders. They lived, worked and relaxed together in tightly knit communities. Helping each other to forage, to build, strong resilient communities and how to survive in the wild. They knew what was good to eat, what trees were good for shelter, what trees had medicinal powers, what trees gave them food and what trees to worship.
So, what do we do on our Celtic Tree Company Day Out?
First of all, we watch a 16-minute film on the Celts and their relationship to Ireland’s Native Trees. Following the film, we go out and meet the trees, discovering their secrets, their lore and their relevance for us today in Ireland. Each tree holds a secret and it us up to the team Building Event to discover what that secret is. Clues will be given and maps handed out to help discover the Celtic Tree Trail. A new language will be learnt, The language of the Celts, the ancient Ogham script. Symbols of this fascinating script are on all our Irish passports. Learning this language will unravel the secrets of the Celtic Tree Company Day Out.
